S Saravanan, the 26-year-old from Erode, alumnus got selected in IAS programme.

Hailing from a agricultural labourers in Mayilambadi, a remote village in Erode, Saravanan was a bright student who had nurtured dreams of joining the civil service. Having scored an impressive 481 out of 500 in the SSLC examination in 2005. In Class XII examination, Saravanan scored 1130 out of 1200. Mr. Saravanan has completed Aeronautical Engineering from MIT Chennai.

“Hard working candidates who write the exam in Tamil will be able to secure high rank. I studied in a government school in my native village. My optional subject was Tamil literature. I wrote the exam in Tamil and answered the interview in Tamil,” said Mr. Saravanan.
